Grant ScopedOps access on Shopify and other hosted platforms
How to add staff / collaborator access on Shopify, and the same idea for Squarespace, Wix, and similar builders.
Use this when your site runs on a hosted platform (Shopify, Squarespace, Wix, and similar) and we need staff/collaborator access for Site Care or related work. Prefer platform invites over sharing the owner password.
What we need
- Staff or collaborator access to the store/site admin
- Only the permissions required for the agreed work (themes, domains, store settings, etc.)
Shopify — add staff / collaborator
Panels below are schematics — Shopify renames screens often; follow the labels closest to yours.
1Sign in to Shopify admin
Sign in as the store owner (or a user who can invite staff).
2Open Users and permissions
Go to Settings → Users and permissions (sometimes underAccount → Users).
3Add staff or collaborator
Choose Add staff or Add collaborator. Collaborator is common when inviting an outside partner like ScopedOps.
4Enter our email + limited permissions
Enter the Kickoff email we gave you. Grant themes, domains, and store settings related to the work — skip finance/payment permissions unless we asked.
5Send the invite
Send the invite and tell us it’s out so we can accept and confirm admin access.
Squarespace, Wix, and similar
Same idea — look for Permissions, Contributors, orTeam:
- Squarespace: Settings → Permissions → Invite Contributor (Admin or a role that can edit domains / site settings as needed).
- Wix: Dashboard → Settings → Roles & Permissions → Invite people.
- Other builders: invite our email with the least privilege that still allows the agreed work.
Domain still at GoDaddy or Cloudflare?
Hosted-platform access does not always include the domain registrar. If DNS lives elsewhere, also follow the GoDaddy or Cloudflare guide.
After we accept
- We’ll confirm we can open the store/site admin
- We’ll only change what’s in scope for your package
- You can remove our user anytime in the same permissions screen
Don’t do this
- Don’t send owner passwords or 2FA codes
- Don’t grant “full owner” if a staff/contributor role is enough
- Don’t remove our access mid-delivery without a handoff note
